One of the most prized collectible lines for the property was the licensed Capsule Plarail Sanrio Shinkansen (カプセルプラレール サンリオ シンカンセン) miniature train series produced by Yujin (now Takara Tomy Arts). Released in January 2002 with a follow-up 3rd series in January 2003, these wind-up and motorized capsule toys faithfully recreated the 14 Sanrio train characters alongside customizable track pieces, bridges, and tunnels.

Early-2000s Sanrio Web Activities & Papercrafts

During the early 2000s, Sanrio's official Japanese website hosted dedicated interactive digital activities for Shinkansen. Children and families could download and print official Shinkansen papercraft templates (ペーパークラフト), printable train town maps, and coloring pages (ぬりえ).
